Posted: December 9, 2016Town of Ulster, NY – Ulster County Executive Mike Hein was joined by County Legislator James Maloney and members of the Ulster County Department of Public Works to open the new Sawkill School Bridge which spans the Sawkill Creek at the end of Sawkill Road. The previous bridge has been replaced with a modern design built to withstand enhanced traffic demands while also providing enhanced pedestrian and bicyclist safety through wider shoulders. The engineering and design will also protect the bridge form the pressure of severe weather events ensuring its utility for decades to come.

Posted: December 2, 2016Kingston, NY – The office of New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli has issued a report entitled “County of Ulster Property Tax Exemptions” subsequent to an audit of Ulster County’s Real Property Tax Service Agency. The primary subject of this audit was the proper application of real property tax exemptions. Not only was the report and audit overwhelmingly positive, it found that there were no material deficiencies and “commend(ed) County officials for designing and implementing effective controls over property tax exemptions.”
